This is one of the oldest bridge in Rome. It was
rebuilt by Emilio Scauro in 109BC. During the centuries, it was
rearranged many times. The tower, rebuilt by Valadier in 1805, was
certainly a part of Aurelian’s fortifications. On the head
of the bridge there are two statues: S. Giovanni Nipomuceno (by
Cornacchini, 1731) and the Immacolata ( by Pigiani, half 19C).
