Piazza Campo de’ Fiori is one of the most
characteristic areas in Rome. By the 16C this square become the
centre of Rome, a meeting place for people of all ranks. The Campo
was the site of all sorts of festivals as well as a place of executions.
At the centre stands a statue of Giordano Bruno, a monk who was
burned for heresy on 17th feb. 1600. Nowadays, every morning there
is a various food market.
