This Church, one of the oldest Roman basilicas, was built in 4C and dedicated to S. Clemente. It was ruined in 1084 but rebuilt on the same site in 1108.
The wonderful mosaics located in the two floors of S. Clemente (upper Basilica and lower Basilica) are one the most important example of Middle Age art in Rome
